Stampin' Up

Using Write Markers for a simple multicoloured card

Following on from my video where I showed you how to make the Worlds most simple card, I thought I would show you another of my favourite tricks with the Stampin’ Up! Write Markers.

The Write Markers are so versatile and easy to use and great for anyone just starting out. In my video I’ll show you how you can use them to stamp in multiple colours all at once – a very neat trick!

One of my beginner tricks (and I still do it now!) is to use a piece of card for the ‘front’ of my folded card. It means if it goes very wrong I’ve not wasted a whole piece.

I love ribbon and adding a knot or bow is an easy way to add a bit of cheerfulness to a card.

What do you think of my trick, cool isn’t it?

I’d love to see what you’ve made, or if you’d like to have a go get in touch – I’m currently offering Classes by Zoom!

Stampin' Up

Welcoming Window – 1 design, 2 cards

The Welcoming Window stamp set is so simple to use, it took about 3 seconds to work out what I wanted to create for my first card. I love the feel of the old fashioned window, it gives this set a real country cottage feel, Cotswold stone and chocolate box gardens – I could almost smell the flowers!

My first card uses a simple stamping technique, to mute the colours (i.e. not make them as strong) I first ‘stamped off’ the inked stamp on a piece of scrap paper before stamping on my card. This lightens the colour of the bricks.

Welcoming Window Simple Card

By using just 5 colours it keeps the card feeling fresh and clean, a perfect card for a Spring Birthday. I used Pool Party for the base and shutters, Gray Granite for the bricks and window frame, Crumb Cake for the plant pot, Mossy Meadow for the plant and then used Rococo Rose as my highlight colour for the flowers and sentiment.

Not only is the Welcoming Window Stamp Set easy to design with, being a photopolymer stamp means it is clear, so you can line up the matching parts easily.

But that’s not all all – it comes with matching dies so you can take your simple card and step it up!
Welcoming Window card with die cuts
Here I’ve created a card in the same design but die cut the flowers and shutters to add depth, and added a few pearl embellishments. It takes a very simple design to the next level.

There are other dies in this set including different style of windows and shutters, pots and vases, and more.
