Stampin' Up

Getting back to Nature’s Beauty

There are few more subjects that create calm than nature.  This blog I’ve been making cards with “Nature’s Beauty” a stamp set that includes a fox, deer and a rabbit, as well as background elements.

I started off with a simple card featuring the rabbit set against the New 2021-2023 In Colour papers (New catalogue out 4th May – contact me for a copy!)natures beauty

The sentiment and branches are from the Very Versailles Stamp set, another of my ‘go-to’ favourites. I like how the Cherry Cobbler colour is so striking against the more muted Old Olive and Crumb Cake colours.

My Second card uses a bridge fold to create depth. Instead of folding the card in half to create a traditional opening card, the bridge card is scored at 3.5cm, 7cm, 15cm and 18,5cm, with stitched label die cut piece for the front.

Again I used the New 2021-2023 In Colour papers to line the front facing sides of the card. Then I used a blending brush and Soft Sea Foam over the top to create a softer base. I stamped the deer and fox in Crumb Cake, and the Rabbit in Early Expresso before using Blends pens to colour him in. The Sentiment is from Rooted In Nature which is currently in the Last chance offer…

As it’s only available for a few more days, I decided to make another nature based card with Rooted In Nature. It’s a double stamp set that I admit I haven’t used much, but will be staying in my collection as it has some wonderful sentiments!
