I recently joined my crafty friend Queen Pip (online during lockdown) for a spot of fancy folding. Its not something I do a lot of, preferring pretty simple cards. However I must have have had slug of Felix Felicis (Liquid Luck) as I had an absolutely wizard idea!
In case you’ve not read JK Rowling’s wonderful series of Harry Potter books, a Howler is a blood-red letter sent containing an angry message which is announced very loudly and usually results in public humiliation for the receiver. In the films the red envelope transforms into a mouth complete with tongue and teeth.
This would be perfect for decorating a party or event, or for a super special card. But what party is would be complete without a birthday card for the wizard themselves?
I used strips of Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler paper to create a Gryffindor tie background, the circle punches to create Harry’s iconic glasses and the Stampin’ Up! Well Written dies for the sentiment.
I also had a few scraps of card and tie left over and made a magical mini wizard figure!
If you’d like to make this yourself at home, I’ve added the instructions in my download shop.
